BTW, that was supposed to be "settings". Post-apocolyptic settings.

Oooh... harsh.

My first thought was that it was one of those post-apocolyptic sttings, where it's a remnant of civilization - and so it might be, but in this case it's specifically designed to have this effect!

Maybe the artist put a fountain over the next hill, with a sign that says "Just kidding!"?
____

Just a note about this site - coming here from the new ToMU really emphasizes how much harder on the eyes this *gray* text is. I know you don't want to make them all the same, but you might consider adjusting it somewhat, while you're at it...

Ah, AE! You've finally infiltrated my subconscious. I was at the movies today and one of the previews was for some ridiculous new Brendan Frasier movie about someone wanting to knock down a forest and build a mall and the wildlife strikes back. All I could think of was this story.

If this were true, it would be vastly more satisfying than knowing it's just a game.

Huh, somehow I had missed the entire unicorn/virgin mythology until now. This made no sense to me until my trusty friend google helped me out.

I really love this one. "Crazy" people are still people, but when their realities are so different... This fiction reminds me of someone I knew, but his reality actually made sense. The only thing that convinced everyone else he was wrong was their gut feeling--sort of like when you're so sure that religion is right (or wrong). Both sides of the fence make sense, but they can't both be right.
